After lamenting the dearth of kid stores nearby, Carla Barbosa decided to put out her own shingle. The shop offers plenty of trendy stuff, like Phil and Ted strollers (from $380) and Diaper Dude bags ($54 and up). Brooklyn-based companies, such as Kee-Ka, also take up shelf space; their onesies emblazoned with pop-culture savvy phrases like “Nobody puts baby in a corner” ($22) will ensure that your baby is the coolest on the playground.
